Amy Lepore
LCSW,CADC
Hi, I’m Amy. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years’ experience helping individuals and families in their most troubling times. My experience includes inpatient psychiatric hospital care, community mental health, and private practice. I’ve worked with teens, adults, individuals, and families. I’ve earned certifications as a drug and alcohol counselor (CAADC), grief counselor (CAGCS), and Acceptance and Integration Training (AAIT) practitioner. Ongoing training, certifications, and work experience has culminated in the quality of therapy I provide today.
I offer a comfortable space where we can work together to create a plan to achieve your therapy goals. We will evaluate your existing strengths and define your needs. I will gently help you identify, acknowledge, and take responsibility for your feelings and behaviors. Understanding how family of origin, biology, and experiences contribute to those feelings and behaviors can be clarifying and validating.
Therapy with me will be more than just talking. We will utilize all aspects of the human experience- thoughts, images, body sensations, and emotions- to help you integrate the concepts we explore in therapy into your life. We will discuss other adjunct therapies or avenues of healing to help you. My hope is that your tension will begin to ease.
I don’t pretend to have all the answers, but I will help you discover solutions through exploration and reflection. Therapy is not a quick fix; it is an opportunity to build resiliency over time. It is a place of hope. I know because I have been on this path, too. Engaging in my own therapy has strengthened my self-compassion and I love to help others experience that, too.
A special note to therapists or other helping professionals in need of support…you do not need to go through it alone. You can be a therapist AND be struggling with your own personal crisis. With support, you will deepen your abilities as a therapist even through the challenges you are experiencing. Please reach out to me to schedule a short phone consultation.
