LCPC,ATR
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist who specializes in relational treatment of trauma in adolescents and adults. As an ally to individuals who have been “othered,” I address the effects of toxic positivity and self-shaming in the healing process and bring a healthy dose of playfulness and humor to my unwavering regard for clients.
I focus on collaboration that facilitates deepening self-awareness, relational recovery, and post-traumatic growth. Here are some of my thoughts on the therapeutic process:
When we experience relational traumas, we heal in safe and supportive relationships. It is my belief that compassion and validation are instrumental in the relational healing process. During sessions, I utilize a combination of insight-oriented therapy, psychoeducation, and internal family systems to accompany those who are struggling with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress responses, suicidality, self-harming behaviors, dissociation, psychosis, relationship conflicts, sex and intimacy, gender dysphoria, and self-acceptance around LGBTQIA+ identities.
As an advocate for acceptance, it is my intention to create a safe, affirming space for clients to be their most authentic selves. Having spent the majority of my professional career working with those who have been economically disadvantaged, socially marginalized, and historically oppressed, I am committed to acknowledging the importance of intersectionality, decolonizing traditional therapy practices, challenging cis/heteronormative bias, and fostering a therapeutic relationship built on anti-oppressive values.
I feel extreme gratitude for doing this work and would be honored to join your healing journey as a companion and ally.
