I work with clients experiencing difficulties in life impacted by depression, anxiety, addictions, effects of trauma, life transitions, and neuro-divergence. Therapy with me is collaborative and works most successfully when you come motivated to explore and engage with the process. However, sometimes we as humans "know it all", and still struggle to make the changes we know we need to. I pride myself on helping those who have had bad experiences or "unsuccessful" experiences with therapy find a different outcome than before.
I use a mix of approaches to assist you with both the skills for the here and now, as well as opportunity to explore the underlying causes for what lead us to feel stuck or wanting to change but unsure what/how/why. I will meet you where you are at, and together we will try to find ways to move forward.
Prior to my 3+ years providing individual and group therapy to teens, young adults, and adults, I worked at the Danville, IL VA in their inpatient and vocational rehab program, at a community clinic providing ABA services for autistic kids and working at the University of Illinois Counseling Center facilitating psychoeducation programs. I'm a suburb transplant after growing up and living in central Illinois for 30 years, who enjoys staying up to date on what's going on in the world, gaming, and spending time with my dogs and partner.
I currently offer hybrid services, via telehealth as well as in-person at our offices in Elmhurst. I look forward to meeting with you and discussing what working together might be like!
