Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Jennifer Offen
APRN
Welcome! I look forward to meeting you soon.
As a nurse practitioner since 2013 and a registered nurse since 2009, I am board certified as both a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (training through Johns Hopkins University) and a Family Nurse Practitioner (training through the University of Illinois at Chicago). Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient hospitals, primary care, urgent care, and psychiatric private practice.
My true passion lies in supporting young people with mental health needs. I take a holistic approach, collaborating closely with my patients and (if minors) their families to develop personalized treatment plans that prioritize comfort and trust. I understand the daunting nature of starting or changing psychotropic medications, and I am ready to listen to your concerns and hopes in a non-judgmental manner. Ultimately, you decide on the course of treatment, with me as a guide to help you understand the evidence-based options available.
I am available to see children (ages 6 and up), adolescents, and young adults (under age 65) with a range of mental health challenges, including ADHD, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, and behavioral issues. I welcome those who have experienced cultural and social marginalization, including those of the LGBTQ+ community, and I am committed to providing inclusive, affirming care.
