LSW

Welcome, and congratulations on taking this important, brave step forward. My name is Julia, and in me you will find a friendly, empathetic and open-minded therapeutic ally. In the era of generic, reactive and superficial social media-oriented therapy, I strive to provide a nurturing yet challenging environment that encourages meaningful self-reflection and growth. I grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan and moved to Chicago in 2012. After a brief career in the corporate world, I earned my Master of Social Work from DePaul University in 2020. Much of my time at DePaul was spent working with Chicagoans of oppressed groups, which greatly informs my practice and my personal sense of justice. I believe mental health is inextricably tied to identity and life circumstance. My beliefs lend themselves to a therapy practice that is non-judgmental, trauma informed, culturally sensitive, individualized and firmly grounded in reality. In my free time, I love to cook, play video games, and hang out with my husband and our three cats. I work with children, adolescents and adults on a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions and relationships. I see clients both virtually and in person at our Oak Park location. I would be honored to walk alongside you as a trusted confidant in your pursuit of self-discovery and wellbeing.
