Lonn Obee
After years of pastoral work in church settings, I transitioned into psychology, beginning as a Case Worker for individuals living with severe mental illness. That experience opened my eyes to the deep and often hidden damage caused by abuse—especially neglect. Motivated to help people find space for healing and growth, I earned my Master’s in Clinical Psychology and have since devoted my career to creating safe, supportive environments where people can explore the complexity of the human experience and move toward wholeness.
I view the therapeutic space as sacred—rooted in authenticity, safety, and trust. I draw inspiration from Carl Rogers, Albert Ellis, and Susan Johnson, blending directive and non-directive approaches depending on each client’s needs. Curiosity, empathy, and respect guide the way I connect, always with the goal of helping clients feel secure enough to pursue healing and growth.
I work with individuals, couples, and families on challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, life transitions, addiction, and relational conflict. I have a particular passion for helping couples deepen connection and intimacy, drawing on Emotionally Focused Therapy and Gottman methods. I’m also experienced in working with teens, college students, and young adults.
I am trauma-informed, trained in mindfulness meditation and Prepare and Enrich for couples, and integrate evidence-based practices including CBT, ACT, REBT, and EFT. My approach is flexible, practical, and tailored to each client’s unique journey.
