Alison Zdarsky: Ed.S., M.Ed., LPC, PEL-SC, ASDCS I am passionate about supporting youth and families seeking assistance with mood disorders, executive functioning difficulties, learning challenges, and parent coaching. I incorporate multiple approaches in my work which facilitate the best treatment outcomes. I tailor my approach on an individual basis and am skilled in a variety of therapeutic approaches. Throughout your care, I account for developmental strengths and areas for growth by continuously assessing an individual’s physicality, sociability, emotions, personality, cognition, intellect, and perception. When working with your child, I involve the parents as I believe that building support around the child leads to resilience and healing. I completed my Master’s degrees in School Counseling in 2013 and Mental Health Counseling in 2015 and have experience providing mental health therapy to children, adolescents and families in the public behavioral health and private outpatient settings. I recently completed my School Psychology Educational Specialist degree in June 2024 and will work as a full-time school psychologist in the fall. I additionally hold certifications in Autism Spectrum Disorder, Trauma and Resilience Life Coaching and Infant Toddler Mental Health. I balance my dedication to professional growth and a strong work ethic by spending time traveling (favorite destination is Switzerland!), in nature (hiking, gardening, and walking my dog) and with friends and family. Although I have lived outside of Illinois, I grew up and currently live in Chicago’s western suburbs where I feel the most “home.” WHAT I TREAT: ADHD Adjustment Disorder Adoption Anger Management Anxiety Attachment/Separation Autism Spectrum Disorder Behavior Management Bullying Children of Divorce Communication Coping Skills Depression Executive Functioning (EF) Family Issues Grief and Loss Intellectual Disability Learning Disorders Life Transitions Parenting Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) School Related Issues/Refusal Self-Esteem Issues Social Skills Stress Management Teen Issues Trauma HOW I TREAT: Individual Family Couples Group WHO I TREAT: Children Adolescents Adults CLINICAL APPROACH: o Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) o Attachment-Based Therapy o Bibliotherapy o Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) o Eclectic Therapy o Executive Functioning Coaching o Family Systems Therapy o Mindfulness o Motivational Interviewing o Parent Coaching o Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) o Person Centered Therapy o Play Therapy o Psychoeducation o Sandtray and Sandplay Therapies o Solution Focused Behavioral Therapy (SFBT) o Strength Based Therapy o Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) LOCATION: Oak Park
