Hello! I know from experience how hard it is to take the first step in finding a counselor, so I congratulate you on your efforts thus far. My counseling style is person-centered, which focuses on building a strong therapeutic relationship through empathy. I aspire to provide trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ positive, culturally competent, and holistic care to help you reach your goals and progress at your own pace. I believe you are the expert on you, and I will follow your lead and provide guidance on your journey to self-discovery and healing. I am a Master’s level clinical mental health therapy intern. I aspire to make people of all ages feel safe being their authentic selves, and I am excited about the opportunity to work with you.
Before pursuing a counseling career, I worked in the corporate world for a decade. This experience helped me understand the role that values, purpose, and meaning can play in someone’s life and what can happen when they are not aligned. I am a mother to an infant and a toddler. This has ignited a passion for working with children, adolescents, parents, and aspiring parents. I am certified in child centered play therapy and hope to encourage, inspire, and build confidence in children and parents alike.
I have always had a heart for helping people, leading me to several advocacy opportunities. For almost a decade, I have volunteered helping individuals in drug rehabilitation transition to independent living by providing emotional support and resources. I have also provided monthly programming to the women’s addiction recovery unit in Cook County Jail. I am passionate about reducing shame and seeing all the parts of a person. No matter what you’ve done, what has been done to you, or what you are going through, there is hope and healing for you. It would be an honor to hold space for you and develop a relationship that provides growth and healing.
