Are you struggling with low self-esteem and a harsh inner critic? Are you unhappy in your closest relationships? Do you want to make changes but have no idea where to begin?
As a culturally-sensitive therapist, I specialize in providing support to individuals, couples, teens, and families experiencing emotional struggles, have a history of trauma, or wanting to change unsatisfying relational dynamics. My work focuses on understanding the patterns, core beliefs, themes, and cycles that serve as barriers getting in the way of the life you want for yourself.
My approach is curious, creative, and balances reflecting on the past for greater insight with an action-oriented approach that develops practical skills and tools to use outside of session. I am most passionate about working with client issues concerning anxiety, body image, LGBTQ issues, and relationship stress. I prioritize the therapist-client relationship by using my calming, laid-back nature, humor, and a nonjudgemental attitude to create a safe space where you feel comfortable enough to share your true self.
I believe that every individual is just one part of a much larger context—including families, relationships, friendships, community, culture, religion, gender, sexual orientation, race / ethnicity, and class. I use this context in every step of the therapy process to understand how these different pieces influence your life and personal story. I am LGBTQIA+, sex worker, kink, poly, and alternative lifestyle affirming.
Reaching out for help can be an uncomfortable and daunting first step, which is why I’m happy to offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to prospective clients. This is a great opportunity for us to determine if we are a good fit for each other. I look forward to getting to know you!
