Hello! I am Jenny, the Director of Operations at Mosaic Counseling & Wellness. I have experience running a small private practice since 2010 and I am so excited to bring my knowledge to Mosaic to help support this amazing team. I am also bringing with me my experience being a certified Somatic Experiencing Trauma Therapist.  I love teaching about trauma therapy and often help the Somatic Experiencing Institute with their 3-year certification program. I am also involved in research with an Illinois University studying how somatic therapy can help US Veterans heal from trauma.

Some other things about me are I run an annual healing retreat called Belly Monster named after a book I am almost done writing. The retreat includes art therapy, writing to heal and somatic therapy.  I have an undergraduate degree in fine arts from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a graduate degree in Counseling, Art Therapy from Adler University. When I am not working with the talented Mosaic team, I am actively involved in several advocacy organizations helping my local community. I am checking off a big bucket list item by writing a book titled Belly Monster about trauma and healing.  In my free time I enjoy learning new things, reading, writing, walking in the forest, watching comedy, and laughing with my family. I am a proud mom of two children who love taking the train around the city to experience new (to us) local restaurants.  My partner has a long history of helping run non for profits and our little family just loves to lift communities up in any way we can. We often volunteer together and even helped run an event titled Smiling Eyes with local musicians to help bring food, masks, and new parent supplies to communities in both the South and West sides of Chicago during the summer of 2020.  

Currently I have been in several trainings including: EMDR, SETM Practitioner Touch Skills Training with Kathy Kain PhD, BASE Trainee (Bodywork and Somatic Education for

trauma therapists) with Dave Berger MFT, PT, LCMHC, MA, SEP, and Compassion Inquiry training completed in Fall of 2022 (Gabor Mate, MD).
