Nourhan Elasaawy

LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois. I have a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, in applied psychology. I’ve learned that reaching out for help isn’t always easy and believe that we all deserve a nonjudgmental, accepting, and safe space that is exclusive to our needs. I believe that our past experiences, traumas, and family dynamics can shape the way we view ourselves and the world. Whether it is the pressure of school, work, or our own personal life dynamics, we are constantly trying to balance all of our moving pieces. My goal is to help you navigate those moving pieces that can often be overwhelming and/or isolating. As a therapist my approach is one of honesty, transparency, and humility. Utilizing multicultural and psychodynamic modalities in my work, I assist clients from various cultural backgrounds navigate mental health issues surrounding trauma, PTSD, relationship issues, life transitions, depression, grief/loss, and anxiety. My treatment approach focuses on person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma informed care. I strive to provide anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and culturally responsive therapy. I incorporate various treatment modalities in my work such as, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, inner child work, solution-focused, and attachment-based therapy. I am excited and eager to assist you in your therapeutic journey by providing you with a culturally sensitive, personalized blend of therapeutic approaches that best fits your unique needs
